Viva Las Vegas! - TV Tropes

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VivaLasVegas Viva Las Vegas! The principal characters journey to Las Vegas. At least one has a gambling problem and will end up dead broke or winning a ton of money (bonus points if an urgent need for cash is why they go to Vegas). Most likely, one or all end up in jail and/or married. It's possible that someone might host their friend's Stag Party here. Don't be surprised if there's a Drunken Montage or Binge Montage. Don't be surprised either to see Wayne Newton, the former teen pop star of the 1950s who popularized the notion of musicians relocating to Vegas in order to find steady work within the city's many high-profile night spots, and...

Court filing reveals Rehab reality TV show has been canceled - Las Vegas Sun Newspaper

Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 | 2:05 a.m. The truTV reality show “Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock Hotel” won’t be returning for a fourth season, attorneys have disclosed. The disclosure was made last week in court papers by attorneys for the Las Vegas Hard Rock hotel-casino, which hosts Rehab day parties during the summer and was hit with a trademark lawsuit over the TV show in September by the owner of the international Hard Rock brand. Hard Rock Cafe International charged in the September lawsuit that the TV show about the Las Vegas parties was tarnishing the Hard Rock brand by portraying “drunken debauchery, acts of vandalism, sexual harassment, violence and criminality.” The Las Vegas hotel-...

Which hotel is Las Vegas the t.v. prog filmed in ? - Las Vegas Forum - TripAdvisor

i've just watched an episode of LasVegas on sky fx. I really only watched it to see the backshots of Vegas although I did enjoy the programme. It's set in the fictional Montecino hotel & casino. Does anyone know where it's filmed? I recorded it cause it was on at stupid o'clock but I was surprised how good it was (in my opinion!!). Nice to see Tom Selleck again! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Las_Vegas _(TV_series)#Location The location of the fictional Montecito has changed from season to season. Some of the first episodes were taped at the Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay. Because of its similarity to Mandalay Bay, many of the show visuals place the Montecito at the far...

Las Vegas (Series) - TV Tropes

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/LasVegas Series / Las Vegas Running from 2003 to 2008 on NBC, Las Vegas was an hour-long drama that depicted the professional and personal lives of the employees of the Montecito Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, which was based loosely on the Mandalay Bay building. The show underwent several retools during its five-year run, usually referenced in-universe as the casino changing ownership (a few of the owners were portrayed by Dean Cain, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Tom Selleck ). James Caan and Nikki Cox left at the end of the fourth season (Caan to return to films, Cox, it was rumored, due to budget cuts) and Selleck was brought in as the new owner....

‘Vegas’ on CBS, Starring Dennis Quaid - The New York Times

Vegas, with, from left, Jason O’Mara, Dennis Quaid and Taylor Handley, on CBS on Tuesday nights at 10, Eastern and Pacific times; 9, Central. Credit Sonja Flemming/CBS It’s a tight race, but my vote for the drabbest and least informative title among the new fall television shows goes to CBS’s “ Vegas ” over some tough competition, including “Arrow,” “Revolution,” “Elementary,” “Partners” and “Nashville,” which is at least the entire name of a city. (I imagine a conversation in which a development executive asks, “Wasn’t there a show on a different network, not too long ago, called ‘Las Vegas’?,” and another answers, “It’s O.K., we’re dropping the ‘Las.’ ”) In some ways the title doesn...

Las Vegas - HISTORY

A desert metropolis built on gambling, vice and other forms of entertainment, in just a century of existence Las Vegas has drawn millions of visitors and trillions of dollars in wealth to southern Nevada. The city was founded by ranchers and railroad workers but quickly found that its greatest asset was not its springs but its casinos. Las Vegas’s embrace of Old West-style freedoms—gambling and prostitution—provided a perfect home for East Coast organized crime. Beginning in the 1940s, money from drugs and racketeering built casinos and was laundered within them. Visitors came to partake in what the casinos offered: low-cost luxury and the thrill of fantasies fulfilled...
